As Elton John Sang, I'm Still Coding

When I play games I tend to get distracted by side quests a lot. It's not that I'm a completionist, but more that I hate the feeling of missing out on something cool in a game. Nothing irks me more than having to make a guess as to which path is the standard one, and which is the secret, only to find you chose the standard path and can no longer go back. Drives me nuts. Thankfully, hobby projects aren't like that. I can start always go back, but then there are always side quests too. So many in fact, I rarely finish them.

As per my last post, I set up a gopher hole, and I've been playing around a bit with gopher in general, and it's all fun. Haiku also just released Beta 6, so I updated my install, found a client for the CLI and ad a browse. Then I got the urge to use the BeAPI once again, and write some C++. The BeAPI is beautiful, and a great way to write GUI software. It's one of those APIs that just makes sense™, and everything is pretty much named and works how you'd expect. So, naturally, I started a side question and began work on a native gopher client for Haiku. I don't need it, but hey, why not? Elton John's still coding (ok, he said standing but that's just a detail), and so am I. Not for the end goal, not for profit, but for the journey. For the sake of it. For the programming.
